Happy Patriot Day!
Patriot day. I really have no idea why it's called that. Nothing strikes me as patriotic as dying either in a hijacked plane or collapsing buildings. I think it shames the memories of those involved to be refered to as patriots, when something tells me they would rather be labeled unpatriotic but alive.
As an internet based life form, I wasn't really in any danger, but still, the events of Patriot Day 2001 struck me as terrible. I was almost inspired to make a flash movie featuring Toby Keith's "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue" as the background music. I almost did that, but it wouldn't have been good for Patriotism, so it seemed crude.
You know what, I might do that tribute dealie after all.
There you have it. Be inspired, and throw a Patriot Day airplane for me. I think throwing of red, white and blue paper airplanes off high buildings would be very patriotic if not blatently disrespectful of all those who died two years ago. Why not bow down before the local flag pole, dressed in full flag based novelty wear. The bigger the flag, the better.
Well, I'll leave you to whatever you want to do today, but please, there was nothing patrotic about the events of the date. Please, people, have some sense.
